I am looking for a makeup primer/ base- something to use over my moisteriser that helps with my skin tone and allows better application of my foundation. I want something that helps my complexion when I having a bad skin day as foundation seems to highlight my imperfections. Furthermore does anyone find that in natural sunlight, your foundation/powder looks fantsastic but under normal light for e.g. at home or in a store/office that the makeup looks like makeup- that it appears so obvious that you are wearing makeup? I know foundation and powder (i use Estee Lauder) works with lighting as particles reflect in the light, but indoors i look terrible- any advice in relation to this would be much appreciated.MAKEup base/primer/ type of lighting affects makeup look.?
Mineral makeup makes me look great in all lights because it has my real undertones in it. My peach skin cannot be matched by expensive liquid foundations that are loaded with filler anyway. I think you are looking for a primer? Smashbox has one everyone raves about.MAKEup base/primer/ type of lighting affects makeup look.?
use monistat chafe relief powder gel, it's cheaper and works good at setting your makeup. I use bare minerals and it works to keep your skin shine free for hours. Report Abuse

Try getting silica microspheres to dust over your make up as a finishing powder. It creates a matte finish that takes highlights away from any uneveness in your skin due to pimples and blemishes.
It's not perfect but it is alot better than some alternatives!
Laura Mercier has amazing primer, it has won many awards and their foundation is even better. I used to work for her, and I would suggest her normal primer, and if you like liquid foundation then try the regular foundation. You can go to a Macys counter and get a free makeover to test it all out, but if you have a chance definatly try the stick foundation! It matches my skin perfect and it blends sooo smooth.
Good luck!
sounds like you have the tones and shades figured out, just don't use as much. Try using just half the foundation you are using now, keeping reducing the amount you use until it goes on your face like lotion and you really can't see it. Good luck!
