What is makeup base?!?!?

Can you tell what a good makeup base is?!?! What kind should i get?!?! Is makeup base a press powder??! You can apply it before or after right?What is makeup base?!?!?
I think makeup base is foundation, which is normally a liquid. A pressed powder is usually applied after you apply foundation (to get rid of shine).





You need to chose a foundation suitable for your skin type. Say, if you have sensitive skin, the new Maybelline Pure Foundation is designed for sensitive skin (as it is composed of 50% water. It is also suitable for acne skin, as it's oil free). Dry skin? You would opt for something with a moisturiser (or chose a tinted moisturiser. They give you a sheer finish while moisturising). And if you're ageing, chose something from Revlon or L'Oreal. They target their foundations to conceal lines and wrinkles and can even improve your skin.





Just a hint - stay away from oily foundations, as they can clog your pores, resulting in pimples. Also avoid the caked look by using a good foundation, and lesser down on powder, as it can make you look fake.

I am lucky I don't have to use that crap! It clogs pores. You are talking about what is typically called foundation. After applying that crap you put powder on. Again I think it is worthless and a waste of time!
';Base'; usually refers to foundation, either liquid, stick, mousse, or creme powder. I *love* Physicians Formula talc-free mineral wear liquid foundation. It's fantastic! It's the first base I've used that doesn't cause a mask-like effect. (By the way, ';base'; is applied first... that's why it's called base!)

No, 'base' is foundation. There are some powder foundations, but pressed powder is different (it's used over a liquid foundation to 'set' it). If you're just beginning to wear makeup, opt for a sheer, lightweight base. Clinique Superfit makeup is terrific. If you'd rather skip the liquid, try I.D. Barecentuals, which is a powder foundation (allowing you to combine the two steps of a liquid base %26amp; pressed powder into one). Visit a store similar to Sephora, or a makeup counter at a local department store. The associates there are trained to help.
cream foundations are the best, especially after cleansing your face before hand... then apply concealer then a translucent powder...

Base designed for dehydrated skin is infused with moisturising ingredients to lock in moisture. Apply the thinnest possible layer of base all over the face, or where needed. Be aware that pore-minimising astringent products for shine-control can dry out the gentle skin around the eyes; while iridescent complexion enhancer applied on oily zones may add unwanted shine. To accentuate your bone structure, use iridescent base alone or blended with foundation along the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin, brow bones, and collarbones.
